Having reviewed the slides myself, I find only a couple of minor areas of disagreement:
1) I have found acupuncture to work very well for Attention Deficit Disorder in children;
2) Acupressure and acupuncture are not interchangeable; they work differently for different people and different conditions.
3) The question of “sham” vs. “true” acupuncture in clinical trials is complex and controversial; many of the “sham” acupuncture treatments in studies are, in fact, alternative ways of rendering physiologically-effective acupuncture treatments. But, as the slideshow notes, both “sham” and “true” study arms can show efficacy when compared to other standard treatments–which may be what really counts to you, the patient with the medical condition.
(Oh, and BTW, I only use single-use, sterile, disposable needles and am licensed by the California Acupuncture Board, which has among the most stringent standards in the U.S.)
